OFTEC is the Oil Firing Technical Association. We represent and promote the oil heating and cooking industry in the UK and the Republic of Ireland and establish common technical standards for oil fired heating and cooking appliances and oil storage tanks.
ICOM is a membership-based trade association that is instrumental in the development of product and installation standards, working closely with governments, professional bodies and associations at National and European level. Consequently, ICOM plays a key role in the development of regulations and best practice in the UK while also ensuring the interests of UK manufacturers are reflected in developing European and ISO standards – to the benefit of our members and their customers.
Oilsave is a new service for oil heating customers, delivered in partnership by OFTEC and FPS – the organisations that support and uphold standards in the oil heating industry. The aim of Oilsave is to provide advice and information to enable oil customers to maximise energy efficiency and save money. We believe passionately that oil heating is a great way to heat your home!
Gas Safe Register is the official gas registration body for the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and Guernsey, appointed by the relevant Health and Safety Authority for each area. By law all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register.
It replaced CORGI as the gas registration body in Great Britain and Isle of Man on 1 April 2009 and Northern Ireland and Guernsey on 1 April 2010.
IGEM (Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers) is a chartered professional body, licensed by the Engineering Council, serving a wide range of professionals in the UK and the international gas industry through Membership, events and a comprehensive set of Technical Standards.
The Association of the European Heating Industry (EHI) represents and promotes the common interests of 39 market leading companies and 13 associations in the European thermal comfort sector, which produce advanced technologies for heating in buildings, including: space heaters (boilers, electric and fuel driven heat pumps, micro-cogeneration), heating controls and components, heat storage and heat emitters (radiators, surface heating and cooling systems), renewable energy systems (solar thermal, geothermal, biomass). The industry has total sales of more than 20 billion euro and employs 120.000 people.
Eurofuel (the European Heating Oil Association) is an umbrella organisation representing 10 national associations and includes over 10,000 companies. Eurofuel provides a platform for its members to promote best practice in the use of heating oil for domestic heating in a way which respects the environment.
The FPS Limited is the Trade Association for the oil distribution industry and ancillary interests in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. It provides members with a collective voice for the industry at national level, services to assist members in optimising their business efficiencies and promotes best practice in the industry.
